Teachers Notes

If you are working with  Keyboard Express, you may find it useful to have a copy of the Teachers Notes. This is free for teachers and students to download. The document provides a good deal of background to the choice of material as well as ideas you may like to include in your own lessons.

The MIDI Debate

If you like a good rant, you might like to check out the MIDI Debate. If you work with MIDI files and get fed up with people who assume all MIDI files are equal, this might at least help you to feel less alone!

There are a range of media players available to play audio files on your computer. If your computer does not have a media player able to play MP3 format files, you will need to download Winamp, or a similar product. Winamp is one of the best known packages and is generally very reliable. If you already use an MP3 player you will not need another, unless you simply wish to compare products.
A large proportion of the music teaching resources here at soundswell.co.uk are provided in Acrobat (.pdf) format. If you do not have this software for your computer, you will be unable to view or use most of the material available. To obtain a copy, click on the Acrobat Reader logo to access the Adobe site. You will be able to select options from there.
